Rhodes Historical Review, a student-edited journal published by the Rhodes chapter of the Phi Alpha Theta history honor society, has secured second prize in the honor society’s undergraduate print category of the 2025 Nash History Journal competition. Sarah Dassinger and Muhammad Waraich of the Rhodes Class of 2025 served as co-editors of the award-winning edition. Dr. Sarah Ifft Decker, associate professor of history, serves as faculty advisor.

Samantha Lamy and Dulcie Trottier will be commissioned as second lieutenants in the United States Army, and Madisen Duke-Bruechert will be commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Air Force.

Prof. Chien-Kai Chen Writes New Book on China-Taiwan Economic Ties
The book is titled Political Economy of China-Taiwan Relations: Its Origins and Development. Prof. Chen’s teaching and research interests included the political economy of East Asian countries, China’s domestic politics and foreign relations, democratization, state-society interactions, and economic interdependence.
